AP Reading List – Book-A-Day: Hamlet

Another Shakespeare favorite, Hamlet, is our choice for today's #Book-A-Day challenge.Author:  William Shakespeare

Category:  Drama

Overview: Considered one of William Shakespeare’s greatest works.  This is the story of a king who attempts to avenge his father’s murder.

What they’re saying in the Prepwise staff room about Hamlet:

Chris: “To read or not to read; that is not even close to the question. The greatest play in English, it is a tale of revenge and redemption that speaks for us all.  I have read this many times; each time it speaks to me in a different way.”

Ethan: “I know most people can quote the famous, “to be or not to be” or “there are more things on heaven and earth…” lines from Shakespeare’s masterpiece. However, I believe the entire play deserves such attention, and after reading it, it’s easy to see why the world knows those lines.”

Karen: “Hamlet is an interesting mix of extreme family drama, murder, tragedy, thrones and revenge. While the revenge is eventually exacted, it is not precisely the way that was intended.”
