While it is always beneficial to have a list of clients who will bring business to your new firm, it is not usually required to begin at a new firm with your own clients. Having a roster of clients who will follow you to the position is a fantastic selling point, however, on not only your skills as a financial advisor but your ability to create and maintain lasting working relationships as well.
