Most private equity associates come from investment banking backgrounds, typically moving from IB to PE at the end of their 2 – year analyst program. It is relatively uncommon to hear of someone entering PE straight out of undergrad, and even more rare to enter VC without prior banking or tech experience.

It is relatively uncommon to hear of someone entering Private Equity straight out of undergrad, and even more rare to enter Venture Capital without prior banking or tech experience.
