The academics and job function are not helping you. The GMAT is fine. Consider your GMAT a “check mark”. A 780 would be a “check plus”. 710 or below would be “check minus”.
 
Your application is a bunch of check, check plus, check minus decisions. So check for GMAT, check minus for academics.
 
That said, if you create a compelling essay (set of essays for non-HBS) that sells your story of where you are headed – why we should expect you to be running Industry X in 10 years, etc. – you may get an adcom’s attention.
 
Don’t try to oversell how awesome you’ve already been. You aren’t competitive there. Don’t dwell on that but acknowledge it and move on. Sell them on where you are going, think forward movement. Back it up with evidence.
