As you might expect, degrees focusing on the more mathematical and scientific of subject matters feature most among the highest paying investment banking directors in the world.

For a simple, straight-forward answer, following degrees such as Economics, Mathematics and Statistics, Computer Science and Engineering are surefire avenues into investment banking as a career.

This is not to say that other more social subjects may not result in high paid investment banking roles. Many famous investment bankers have come from background of Humanities and the Arts, from History to Classics, and have shone through as a result of their extra-curricular activities during studies.

Internships and building strong contacts before applying for jobs is a great way to find your feet in an investment banking career, regardless of your qualification choices.
