Freight forwarders must carry public liability insurance (bodily injury/property damage/environmental restoration) and cargo insurance . They must file the BMC-34 or BMC-83 with the Federal MOtor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) to show proof of cargo insurance. The BMC-84 or BMC-85 fur surety bond amount, and BMC-91 or BMC-91Z to show proof of public liability insurance.
